Frequently Asked Questions
How do I use this site to find and buy replacement parts?
You can search by make/model, part number, by item description or by popular category (i.e. Hydraulic Fluids). While we have over 37,000 active SKUs, all 100,000+ items are on the site with up-to-date information, including pricing and availability.
Why should I use Jacobsen® Genuine Parts replacement parts for my equipment?
Our products are designed specifically for your equipment’s operation and tolerances. They are unrivaled in quality, innovation and performance. Our reels, bedknives, filters and maintenance kits are designed and developed together with each piece of equipment in mind. This insures that Jacobsen® Genuine Parts provide the best performance and superior results that you expect from our turf management equipment.
Does using an aftermarket (or non-Jacobsen) replacement part affect my warranty coverage?
Yes. Buying OEM replacement parts ensures that your equipment coverage remains in effect for the full warranty period. Using anything else may adversely affect your warranty coverage. Also, using Jacobsen® Genuine Parts gives you another level of confidence because they are protected with a 180-day factory warranty against defects in material and workmanship and covers the replacement of the part.
We provide 180-day factory warranty for all parts purchased on shopjacobsen.com. In the unlikely event that you have a warranty issue, please contact the shopjacobsen.com’s customer service department at 1-888-606-5253 for anything purchased on our site.
If you have the bedknife or reel for my mower, how long will it take for me to get the part?
Our state-of-the-art facility has 1,000 “Never Out” parts that we commit to having in stock at all times and over 36,000 other items to support our customers – not just the fast movers that “will fit” companies typically provide. If a part is in stock and your order is placed by 4:00 EST, it will ship that business day. If it is placed after 4:00 EST, it will ship the following business day. We offer a range of shipping options to suit your needs.
What makes your reels and bedknives superior to all the others?
The Jacobsen cutting system was designed from the ground up for the perfect interplay between the frame, reels, bedknives, pull points and rake-to-blade angles. All our Classic XP™ Reels have tighter tolerances through flatness and run-out (concentricity). The run-out defines the reels’ ability to stay true and maintain consistent rotation within its center point. Jacobsen holds the tightest and most consistent specifications for run-out. Classic XP™ Reels also feature our Advanced Relief Technology™ which provides increased durability. A relief angle of 45 degrees and an improved face angle of the blade help to significantly extend its life. Our grinding process yields the best blade surface and delivers up to three time more spin grinds than generic aftermarket blades. Finally, our patented Austempered Heat Treating process provides a tougher bedknife with minimum distortion. Less distortion means less stress during straightening and a tougher blade.
What is the difference between GreensCare™ biodegradable hydraulic fluid and petroleum-based products?
When standard hydraulic fluid comes into contact with the turf on a golf course, it burns individual blades of grass on impact. Then, it soaks into soil and root systems where it causes problems because it doesn’t break down in the soil. While any hot liquid, even filtered water, will initially wilt grass upon impact, standard hydraulic fluids stay in the soil and linger in the environment. When this happens, it kills turf, inhibits new growth and poses dangers to other plants and animals. GreensCare™ biodegradable hydraulic fluid has none of the negative implications associated with the leaks and spills of petroleum-based products. In addition to its turf protection qualities, the GreensCare product line was engineered for better equipment performance due to its improved oxidative stability (less stress and fewer heat-related problems than other standard fluids because it is a more efficient lubricant) and its higher kinematic viscosity (GreensCare is thicker than most hydraulic fluids which allows it to provide more stability for hydraulic systems over a broader temperature range during operation). As a result, systems using a GreensCare biodegradable hydraulic fluid experience a reduction in wear and scarring on moving parts. This helps individual components and overall systems to last longer.
